Sae Midori
There is a wonderful tea shop a short walk from me and one day I asked them for their recommendation. I walked away with Sae Midori Tea, from Japan and absolutely love the flavor. It has an earthy taste, almost buttery, in a strange way. I like that it is not bitter and over powering but also really does have a flavor. Sae Midori brews to a gorgeous, green, like electric moss color, if I had to describe it(my painting didn’t do it justice). I have plenty of herbal teas and also green teas with accents of lime or lemon, flowers or berries. Green tea has lots of health benefits and I like to drink a few cups early in the day and save the herbal varieties for late afternoon and after dinner. Green tea does have caffeine so good to be mindful so as to not affect your sleep.
Interestingly, the brew temperature is quite low 60 degrees fahrenheit. It is nice to be able to drink a cup of tea straight away, or without burning yourself and the water heats up quickly. Down side is that my procrastination time is cut short with the short boil time.
So if you’re in the market for a new tea to try, I highly recommend giving Sae Midori, a Japanese loose leaf green tea a try! What are you favourite teas, I would love some recommendations!
